We eat according to the seasons and our unique constitution. Cleanses in Ayurveda follow some very simple rules. Easy to digest whole foods that are home prepared and choosing foods that are local if possible and in season. Eating at the appropriate times of day. Eating foods and spices according to our Dosha. Noticing how we digest and feel after a meal. Cleanses are traditionally done in between transitional periods of the seasons such as end of summer , beginning of fall and end of winter , beginning of spring. Some cleanses are nourishing to set us up for a health winter , while others are about letting go, more stimulating and new growth or beginnings.
